In my last post, all I was trying to say, and from reading it again, I don't think it was very clear, is that we should compile a list of groups/organizations that are working to bring healing and restoration in our world.

It's one thing to talk about restoration, but what if in addition to our evening, we could empower people to go and help folks. That is all.

We could encourage people to get involved with various organizations, or be creative and find a new way to help folks.

Surely all of this wouldn't be explicitly in our evening, but would be in the program, or in the journal, the 'Restoration Project' is a lot of things, but it's not an info-mercial. That's all I'm trying to say.

My pitch for Habitat, has nothing to do with the 'Restoration Project,' I just thought some of you guys might be intersted.

If I came across harsh in my previous commentary, no offense intended. I really am just curious how everybody feels about trying to put some personal application into restoration?

Not to worry, my first post wasn't very clear, it needed to be made better.

I don't see any problem with it.

Christ's very clear:

"Go, and do likewise" (Found at the end of the parable of the Good Samaritan)

Go therefore into all of the world (Great Commission)

It's the whole point of Restoration: you don't restore a great work of art such as a Rembrandt and then stick it in a storage area where nobody can see it. :)

I was thinking of adding a less tangible application bit to the journal. Basically what I'm thinking for the journal is along with being a program/display of artwork and containing the little journalling act; I will include a week-long reading the Bible part (we used to do this during sermon series at Atlas...I miss that), and perhaps some journally bits leading toward application of the things learned.

I think Christ was pretty clear on the "why" that he taught: not just so people could say "nice stories," but to say go and do likewise.
